Library Instruction Request Form

A Library session should be scheduled at least one week in advance. The Library requires instructors to accompany their students as it has been proven to enhance the effectiveness of instruction. Please provide a copy of your class assignment to the request form. We look forward to working with you and your students.

Types of Instruction

Type	Definition	Approximate Time
Orientation	An overview of the library and its resources. May include a brief tour, then computer instruction with particular focus on the group's subject area	45 minutes – 1 hour
Course-Integrated Instruction	A specific computer instruction class that usually revolves around a class assignment or project	50 minutes – 1 ½ hours
Course Series	A series of classes starting with library orientation and advancing to specialized searching skills	50 minutes for each session
