BCC/FAU FACULTY Faculty members may place books from the circulating collection and other materials (including personal copies) on reserve. While every effort will be made to protect personal material, the library cannot be responsible for lost or damaged materials. All materials place on reserve must comply with the Copyright Law. In an effort to help us abide by the Copyright Law, we are asking each of you who are placing materials on reserve, especially photocopies, to adhere to the law. THE COPYRIGHT LAW In compliance with Copyright Law, faculty members may reproduce one (1) copy of work NOT his or her own to be placed on reserve. To reproduce multiple copies of the same work is a violation of the Copyright Law. A faculty member is allowed to reproduce up to five (5) copies only with a permission letter. If a permission letter is not in hand at the time the faculty member wishes to place the multiple copies on reserve then she/he must show proof that a permission letter is already in process. Permission is not needed for solutions to problems of an unpublished nature, the instructor's own articles, and federal or state laws or cases.
