COSMETIC  SURGERY

 

DEFINITION: “Cosmetic surgery is a branch of plastic surgery that is carried out to change the shape of the body or to reconstruct or repair soft tissue.  Cosmetic operations can have psychological benefits by improving the patient's body image and self-esteem and may also have some medical benefit, even if this is not the main reason for the treatment.” Encyclopedia of Family Health.
