BILINGUAL EDUCATION
DEFINITION: “An education program in which two languages are used, the primary of the society and the secondary language of individuals being instructed. The general goals are to facilitate learning, to acknowledge the native language of the students and foster a positive self-concept, and to help students understand differences among cultures that different languages reflect.” (The Facts on File Dictionary of Education)
