A valid photo-ID card from BCC or FAU is also the library card for U/CL. Faculty and adjunct faculty may borrow materials for a full term or semester. All materials must be returned no later than the last day of classes each term or semester. Fines are not charged to full time faculty, but lost items are charged. Non-circulating material may be borrowed for instructional purposes by making arrangements with the Access Services Librarian or a Reference Librarian. Library cards expire at the end of each term or semester, so if you need to access to the U/CL databases that require a library card number in between terms, contact the Circulation Desk prior to the end of the term or semester to have your library card expiration date extended.
Full-time BCC Faculty and Adjunct Faculty: Obtain your BCC photo-ID card at any Student Activities office. Current BCC faculty and adjunct faculty are automatically entered into the U/CL personnel database by the end of the first week of classes. Those who do not have their BCC-ID card within the first month of classes will have to come to the library to have their card entered. Afterwards, it is automatically updated each term as long as you are employed at BCC.
Full-time FAU Faculty and Adjunct Faculty: Obtain your FAU OWL-ID card at any Student Affairs office. The Owl card is also your library card. To use the U/CL the first time, you must have your Owl card entered into the U/CL patron database in person at the Circulation Desk. Thereafter, the card must be updated by the U/CL each semester; however, it can be done in person or over the phone. If an FAU faculty or adjunct faculty member is not current in the State University Library system (SUL), he/she will need to bring a letter from the department chair showing employment for the current semester along with an Owl card and photo-ID to have the information entered.
PINs: You can also renew books online from the U/CL Web page Quick Picks list with your library card number and a PIN (Personal Identification Number). Your default PIN is initially assigned when your library ID card is added to the LINCC system and usually consists of the last four digits of your social security number. You can change your PIN. If you have difficulty logging in, or if you've forgotten your PIN, call the U/CL Circulation Desk.
