Login Procedures for University/College Library Resources

Authorized use of our electronic resources is governed by state-wide licensing agreements with database and e-book providers which restrict use to currently enrolled students and currently employed faculty and staff of Broward College and Florida Atlantic University-Davie.

What is the login procedure?

When attempting to access a library resource you should see a screen similar to the following:

Login Screen

If you encounter a screen that’s different than the one above, you’ve probably either clicked on the wrong link or the resource you wish to use isn’t accessible remotely.

BC students, faculty and staff:

Your borrower ID number is your student ID# or PID# found on your BC Photo ID card . For example, the login for Sammy Seahawk, ID# 012345678 would be: 012345678

Your default PIN is the four digits of your birth date: MMDD. For example, if you were born on July 04, your PIN is 0704.

Attention Broward College faculty and staff!

If you have an old BCC ID card, your ID# or PID# is not listed on your ID card. The only way for you to find your PID# is through Broward College employee Intranet.

Your PID# is either 4 or 5 digits long. Please remember to add enough leading zeros to make a nine-digit number.

For example: If your PID# is 1234, your ID# is 000001234.

FAU students, faculty, and staff at the Davie Campus:

Your borrower number is the 14-digit number on the front or back of your FAU Owl Card, beginning with 21976. Do not type the letter "A" at the beginning or end. Your PIN is the last four digits of your birthday (MMDD - e.g. enter 0304 for March 4th)

BC and FAU patrons may change your PIN at My Account on the U/CL web page.

Once you have provided your ID# and PIN, you will be logged in. Click on the e-book or database you wish to use.

If you are using a database, click on the “Connect to database” button.

As long as you do not close your internet browser, your login will stay active and you should not have to re-enter the numbers.
